63,000 Months!

The ROW Foundation has donated enough of the antiepileptic drug (AED) Roweepra to cover 63,000 months of treatment. We can’t know for sure how many children and adults in underserved parts of the world are benefiting from our medication grants, but the number is growing rapidly. And once a patient starts on Roweepra we are committed to maintaining their supply of this vital medication. As our founding president, Dr. Paul Regan explains, “When we enter into a partnership with healthcare providers, it’s a long-term commitment because epilepsy is a lifetime struggle. We don’t want to start people on helpful treatment that can’t be sustained. And as the need grows we’ll be able to send more medication, thanks to the generosity of OWP.”

Ken Koskela at ROW booth

AES is the largest gathering in the world for epilepsy professionals in academia, clinical practice, industry and advocacy. ROW and OWP had booths again this year. We met with a number of potential partners for future ROW projects. Especially exciting was a connection with a doctor looking for AEDs for a large refugee camp with a severe shortage of medications. Stay tuned for details!
