Every nonprofit leader will tell you the greatest asset in any organization is people, with people in leadership positions being first and foremost.
The ROW Foundation has been blessed from its beginning with leaders full of vision, expertise, energy, compassion and committment. It’s now our pleasure to welcome three more, like-minded leaders with a desire to build the foundation and positively affect the lives of others.
Many thanks to these individuals who give of their time, energy and expertise to help improve the quality of care available to persons living with epilepsy in under-resourced areas of the world!
Board of Directors
Patricia A. Gibson, MSSW, DHL, ACSW and Marvin A. Rossi, MD, PhD began three-year terms on the Foundation’s Board of Directors effective January 1, 2017. Both have been significant sources of counsel and encouragement from the foundation’s earliest days.
The ROW Foundation Board of Directors is the organization’s governing body. As such it exercises legal, financial, management and program oversight of the organization. The Board of Directors is comprised of between four and seven individuals who serve without compensation, and who fulfill their duties with care, in good faith, and in the best interests of the foundation.
Aashit Shah, MD accepted a formal position as Adviser to the organization. Dr. Shah had been serving as an informal adviser through much of 2016, and with the start of the new year was formally recognized as the first member of what will become a multi-person Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council is comprised of individuals with expertise in their respective fields – particularly those of neurology and epilepsy – who volunteer their time and energy to serve as advisors to the Board and staff of the ROW Foundation. The Advisory Council assists the Board and staff by advising on an as-needed basis on such topics as program design, program evaluation, funding priorities, inter-organization relations, etc.
Photos and professional summaries of our three new leaders, as well as the rest of the ROW Foundation Board and Staff, are available on our website.
