Helping people achieve their potential is a powerful thing. ROW is about addressing a key constraint for some; namely untreated epilepsy and associated psychiatric disorders. Those people with epilepsy in low-income countries face a wide range of challenges, which have been made worse by the pandemic.
Our partner, Purple Bench Initiative addresses the stigma associated with epilepsy in Uganda. Purple Bench founder, Nina Mago, was the recipient of the ROW Foundation 2020 Amanda Award. Purple Bench used some of the Amanda Award grant to invest in a single high-potential individual in a way that would create community awareness regarding epilepsy.
