Since March, we’ve heard regular reports of medication supply chain interruptions, soaring prices and families struggling to afford food and other essentials. Thanks to OWP Pharmaceuticals and other partners and friends of ROW, we’ve been able to meet all our existing commitments and a lot more. So, we want to say THANK YOU for your support in 2020.
ROW GRANTED millions of dollars’ worth of Roweepra® and Subvenite® in regions with high treatment gaps – enough to cover more than 45,000 patient prescription months. Cumulatively, this equals more than 140,000 patient prescription months of medication granted since 2016.
ROW EXPANDED our reach to include twelve new partnerships and six new countries, including Democratic Republic of Congo, Guyana and Liberia.
ROW LAUNCHED an exciting new partnership in India, thanks to the support of two close friends of ROW. This will expand on the great work being done by the Lifeline Express to provide epilepsy diagnosis and support in rural India.
ROW SUPPORTED the establishment of three TeleEEG epilepsy clinics: one in Sudan and two scheduled for early 2021 in Sierra Leone. TeleEEG provides a low-cost EEG machine for diagnosis, conducts training and provides access to remote EEG reading through its network of skilled volunteer EEG interpreters.
ROW is now partnering with Medical Assistance Sierra Leone (MASL) as part of our year-end campaign to deliver thousands of copies of a new children’s book addressing the stigma around epilepsy in schools. There’s still time to help sponsor a book distribution event in a school and make a long-lasting impact. Simply click the Donate link. If you’d like to get more involved with ROW in 2021, contact Lori and ask for details about upcoming opportunities.
With much appreciation,
Ken Koskela Director of Global Programs / Acting President
